  Which side are you on
[all parts joining in one by one for intro]

1. Which side are you, Which side are you
Come all of you good people, You women and you men
Once more our backs are to the wall, we're being attacked again

2. Which side are you, Which side are you
Don't scab for the bosses, Don't listen to their lies,
Us workers haven't got a chance, Unless we organise
3. Which side are you, Which side are you
We fought a million battles, To defend our hard won rights
We're going to have to fight again, And I ask you here [tonight]

4. Which side are you, Which side are you
It's time for a decision, And you really have to choose
Defend the workers' struggle, Or the next in line is you

Which side are you on
- Ascott women
Verses in unison, chorus in harmony
1. "Come all of you good workers,
your labourers on the land,
You've got to join the union,
not undercut our men."

2. We 16 Ascott women,
we tried to make them join,
We wanted union rights for all
who work our precious soil.

3. They tried us for coercion,
they sentenced us to jail,
Hard labour served in Oxford,
it didn't make us fail.

4.The people came in number
to protest against the law,
The law that's made by rich men
to persecute the poor.

5. The union gave us money,
but told us we were wrong,
They couldn't see the future,
the struggle carries on.

6. So come all of you brave women,
who stand beside your men,
The fight for rights is up to us,
and we'd do it all again.
